Homeschooler Flooding in Your Community Workshop
Homeschool learners will engage in various activities, learning how flooding as an extreme weather event can impact communities around the globe. Using real-life scenarios and a green solution STEM simulator, participants will expand their learning on how to make a home, school and community more flood resilient.
Oceans of Change Workshop (Gr 4-12)
Students will dive into the depths of the ocean to understand its role and importance in our world and how taking climate action can work to protect one of our most vital resources. Using their voice through the art of creativity, students will learn about eCards, taking steps to explore how to get change-makers' attention and see how small steps can make a big impact.
ReMaker Space: Single-use Plastics Workshop (Gr 3-12)
Based on GreenLearning’s Eco 360 Program, our “ReMaker Space: Single-Use Plastics” workshop/webinar encourages students to think about the sustainability of everyday items and explore ways to transition from a linear economy to one that is circular.
Spot the Troll Workshop (Gr 9-12)
Based on GreenLearning’s Climate Policy Quest Program, our “Spot the Troll” workshop/webinar focuses on the impact of misinformation on climate policy, encouraging students to critically evaluate the information they encounter both online and offline. This workshop/webinar also empowers students to use their voices to advocate for issues important to them. Perfect for students in grades 9-12.
Excess Water: Flooding in Your Community Workshop (Gr 3-12)
Based on GreenLearning’s Flood:ED Program, our “Excess Water: Flooding in Your Community” workshop/webinar connects students to real-life experiences of flooding. It focuses on the causes and consequences of flooding, as well as actions that can be taken to help mitigate flooding in and around communities.
Speak for the Trees Workshop (Gr 3-12)
Based on GreenLearning’s Energy Revealed Program, GreenLearning offers a “Speak For the Trees” workshop/webinar that delves into the topics of climate change and greenhouse gases, highlighting the environmental effects of electricity consumption. Additionally, it emphasizes the importance of energy efficiency, conservation, and proactive climate action. Perfect for grades 3-12!
Re-Energized Workshop (Gr 7-12)
This workshop is perfect for grades 7- 12 and will open a portal to a future filled with renewable energy and electric vehicles. Workshop participants will have the opportunity to learn, expand and test their knowledge through this interactive session on the differences between renewable and non-renewable energy sources
