Green Street endeavours to provide opportunities to actively engage students and teachers in environmental learning and sustainability education. Green Street links schools in Canada to reputable environmental education organizations across the country. We aim to deliver credible, accessible and affordable programs that support the curriculum, relate to students' concerns, encourage a sense of personal responsibility for the environment, foster a commitment to sustainable living, and promote an enduring dedication to environmental stewardship.

GreenLearning's re-energy.ca and eCards programs are Green Street approved, meeting the Green Street Benchmark for Excellence in Environmental Learning and Sustainability.  All Green Street programs must actively engage youth in environmental stewardship.

Green Street is funded by The J. W. McConnell Family Foundation with the aim of fostering a sense of environmental stewardship among young people across Canada.  The Canadian Teachers' Federation and the Centrale des syndicats du Québec work with the Foundation to promote the Green Street program.
