Redfish School of Change

“My experience at Redfish was nothing short of life affirming and personally transforming.”

— 2010 Participant

This unique five-week field school takes post-secondary students through the mountains, lakes and communities of the West Kootenays. Accredited with the University of Victoria and designed for young people who want to lead the way in creating ecological sustainability and social equity in their communities, the field school fuses academic and experiential learning, with passionate educators, guest speakers, wilderness expeditions, leadership initiatives and field research.

While the program is intensive and demanding, students will gain the knowledge, skills and confidence required to lead a meaningful action project in their own communities. They’ll have an opportunity to develop their ideas into action plans, which they can then implement with continued support from Redfish mentors.
