Last Call on eCards-to-Copenhagen!

the winning Get Reel on Climate videoIt is not too late for your students to have a voice in the upcoming climate change negotiations in Copenhagen!

Set aside some class time between now and November 23rd so that your students can create eCards with their messages about climate change. Canada's team of youth delegates—featured here in their winning video application to UNICEF's Get Reel on Climate Competition—will take the eCards with them to the Children's Climate Forum in Copenhagen. There, youth from around the world will prepare a communiqué to present to world leaders at COP 15.

This unique climate change activity, designed primarily for Grade 9 to 11 Science, Geography and Language Arts, can take as much or as little class time as you'd like. On the eCards website, your students can explore current data and videos, use the ask-an-expert feature, and answer online research questions. If your class is already up-to-speed on climate change, however, you can bypass the research phase and jump right into creating eCards. Don't hesitate to contact us with any questions about tailoring this activity for your students.
