2. See the New Topic for eCards
Teachers and students
from Grande Cache
Community High
School, Parkland Composite High School, Niton
Central School,
Wildwood School
and Hillcrest School
in Alberta are
now pilot testing GreenLearning's latest addition to eCards: a topic resource
centre on Oil and Gas. Oil and Gas is the sixth topic in this popular program
on energy which also includes Solar Energy, Wind Power, Energy Success Stories,
Arctic Glaciers and Nuclear Power.
The Oil and
Gas topic resource centre explores three questions:
-
How do crude oil and natural gas become energy
for human use?
-
What are the advantages and disadvantages of our
use of crude oil and natural gas?
-
What role will crude oil and natural gas have in
our energy future?
An
Oil and Gas Fact Sheet is available now, and videos will be added later
this spring. Like other eCards resources, this one is primarily
designed for students in grades 7 through 9 and appropriate for Science, Social Science, Geography, Language Arts, and Media Literacy.
On
the standalone eCards website, students research a topic such as Oil and Gas,
answer research questions to demonstrate their knowledge, and then create an
eCard with their own message and image. With teacher approval, they can send
their eCards to family members, local politicians and other decision-makers. To
learn more about eCards, visit http://ecards.greenlearning.ca.
