You are most likely having trouble unzipping your .zip file. A Zip file is "a computer file whose contents of one or more files are compressed for storage or transmission, often carrying the extension .zip."
The easiest way to open a ZIP file is to just double-click on it and let your computer show you the folders and files contained inside. In most operating systems, including Windows and Mac OS, ZIP files are handled internally, without the need for any extra software.
However, there are many compression/decompression tools that can be used to open (and create!) ZIP files.
